ARCH ANGELS (Harpers&Queen magazine issue October 1982)

£995.00

This Quirky Queue is created from a vintage issue of Harpers&Queen magazine (October 1982). It is a very gradual unplanned process where all my favourite pieces are torn and cut from the magazine itself. The back drop is prepared initially with a combination of materials including pieces from the magazine before the outfits themselves. This first layer is further worked on with acrylics, ink, lead and crayons to create a scene which slowly starts to evolve along with the mark making process. Once a scene is developed outfits are chosen and characters are created and placed in position. Once the narrative starts to happen they are glued into position and given abstract heads with a drizzle of nail polish. Then further dressed up in real ‘paper-doll’ style with accessories cut from the magazine itself. This piece is finished with satin varnish to ensure longevity.

Dimensions are 54cm x 104cm Professionally framed in white wood.
