CHAMPAGNE AND OYSTERS

£1,400.00

This large work celebrates the beauty of Scottish Architecture and the people of the City. Victoria Street in Edinburgh’s Old Town is one of my favourite Streets, it’s so colourful and oozes character and is the inspiration of this piece. The intitial outline of the composition on board is followed by the addition of pieces of torn packaging including champagne boxes (Veuve Clicquot and Bollinger). The backdrop is slowly layered up and detail is added using magazine pieces, acrylic paint, gloss paint, inks, lead, pastels and watercolours. The characters are then added in paper doll style by selecting contrasting outfits that harmoniously work with the existing vast colour spectrum. These are brought to life adding abstract heads with up cycled nail polish and then accessories are added in the typical ‘Quirky Queue’ style.

Finished in satin varnish for longevity and framed in refurbished black chalk paint frame.

87.5cm high x 105cm wide
