Garden Gallery
Garden Gallery
This piece was created during my Virgin Hotel Artist in Residence in 2024 which saw me collecting in and recycling the Festival flyers and magazines within the body of the artwork. In my Quirky Queue style the magazines pieces were firstly used to create the backdrop of Princes Street gardens beside the Gallery Cafe at the side of the National Gallery where much of the action happens during the bustling festival. A mixed media layering technique is used with many different mediums from acrylic paint to nail polish to the finest of sniping from the flyers themselves. The final cherry on the cake with my works sees me adding magazine figures to help create the busy energy on the Streets of Edinburgh during the month of August. Up-cycled nail polish was used for the heads then satin varnish finished.
Framed in up cycled black chalk frame measuring 53cm high x 43cm wide.
